Friday evening saw Cheadle Hulme Ladybridge CC's u13's face off against Bowdon CC's u13's in the winter indoor cricket league.
Bridge up first...
With CHLCC batting first, things didn't bode well when a wicket was lost from the first ball. However, with a combination of great running and some sensational gap picking shots, we were able to battle on to eventually post 162-2.
Special mention to Lukas for an incredibly cheeky paddle off his legs straight to square leg.
On the whole, a much more controlled batting performance from everyone!
Time to bowl...
A fine start to the bowling saw the first opposition pair restricted, featuring an exquisite catch off the roof from Rehan. The next pair of Bowdon batters played well to hit the side walls nonetheless, the scoring was kept to 126-2 at the half way point. Another catch off the roof for Rehan (taken from his own bowling), what can only be described as a 'worldie' from Lukas at point and a clean bowled by wicketkeeper Oli saw Bowdon limp to 118-9.
An admirable fielding performance in the indoor arena wrapped this game up, giving Ladybridge their first win of 2022.
